I believe all of the students took a nap after today's events. We ate dinner at 5:30 and then headed out for the Winter Red Cross Fair at 6:30. We all wore our orange BCNC polo shirts that were given to us upon our arrival on Thursday. The BCNC students wore their black skirt suits. They were so official looking. All of the buddies accompanied my students to the fair. The fair is very similar to the large scale fairs in the USA. Vendors were everywhere selling food, crafts, furniture, clothing, toys, etc.  There was so much food. Some of the students had their first taste of insects/bugs. It was more of an experience to say, "I tried it" but I do not have to ever eat it again.

We met Pi Jip and her daughter JingJo at the fair. It was not long after our arrival that I was asked to MC the fundraiser. Everyone had been speaking Thai and now they wanted an American to get up and speak English so that all of the farangs (foreigners) would understand what was gong on. So, I had to quickly pull myself together and get on stage. I told them about Messiah College and the collaboration we have with BCNC. I encouraged them to support the Red Cross which is a world wide organization. I used the Tsunami as an example of how their country had benefited from the organization. They had me hand out large item gifts as people's ticket numbers were called. Then toward the end of the evening I was given a VIP pass and told that I was now going to meet the Governor and sit with the government officers to verify the process of the lottery. They were giving away TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, motorcycles and a brand new Toyota car. When the Governor arrived everyone lowered their heads and bowed to him. There were also several Deputy Governors present. I really do not know why I have been afforded the privileges that I have. I am so undeserving. It is truly of the Lord above.

At the end of the evening, Kuhn Anan (Pi Jip's husband) brought me some Roht Dee. Oh, is it good. It is like a filo pancake that has banana inside of it, with honey coating and chocolate swirled on top. Kuhn Anan certainly spoils me with providing me the best of everything. It is time to end the day. We have a very full day tomorrow as well. Our schedule is full to the end of January. Enjoy the snow back home. :)
