We arrived in Augusta with plenty of day light to find the motel, we checked in and Alan was all excited to see this golf course.
So he puts the address in the GPS and off we go, he was just about running off the road in the car trying to get there. Well on right side there is Augusta national he nearly wet himself with excitement, we found the famous magnolia lane as he turned the car into it out comes the security guard to tell us no you can not enter, but if you want some photos you can park your car across the road and take photos from outside the gate.
Alan as quick as lightening had the car parked and grabbed me by the hand, dragged me across the road to take photos of this stupid golf course which we are not allowed to enter.
Not one to be happy with just photos Alan decides to jump back into the car and go around the side and back of the course looking for a place to jump the fence, but alas the whole perimeter fence and entry gates (which there were 12) all had barb wire on top as well, there was plenty of vegetation blocking any view of this course so off he went again looking for a tree to climb to get over the fence(as if he wasn't the first die hard golfer trying to get in.) But to no avail, sadly he had to admit defeat that he was not going to walk on the sacred fairways of Augusta national golf course. But he did walk in and picked some grass from the inside of Augusta (not from the fairway but from one of it's well manicured lawn)
Woke up the following morning and Alan wanted to get some souvenirs from Augusta for his golfing mates but there is a licence permit that only Augusta national golf course can sell these, the shop is in the clubhouse of the course, so off we go back there..... Again only to find the same security guard on the gate that spoke to us the day before and he said that yes there is a shop in the clubhouse and it is only open when the masters is on ( what a joke) so he opened the gate for us and we got in to Augusta national golf course for all about 30seconds in the car.
As we exited the golf course we pulled over to the side to enter directions to Atlanta we must of been there for about a minute and then the security guard poked his head out and told us to move on, so really we also got kicked out of Augusta national golf course as well.

Poor Dad :( No golf course for you. And we so dearly wanted to see you get arrested for jumping the fence... I hope he didn't grumble about it the whole way to Atlanta, Deb.

Oh dear............ I really don't have a lot more to say. I'm surprised he didn't try and get a fake membership, hat and moustache! Sounds like you are having an awesome time. I hope Alan isn't sooking too much lol
