Up early and on our way to Albuquerque, which wasn't a bad drive at all... in fact we got in early, checked into the Enchanted Trails campground (less pomp & circumstance than the other three at the exit we stopped at) and had time to drive down Route 66 and gawk like tourists at the remnants of old motels... which was very cool. I needed more freeze dried breakfast items, so we found an REI and went shopping. On our way there, we cut through the city on the highway and saw these fools:

You hear about it, and see bad videos on u-tube, but I'd never seen it live outside my car window! Have I gotten old or is crystal meth the only explanation for doing something this retarded on a multi-lane highway during rush hour?? We were traveling at 65mph (no trailer attached, obviously), and they passed us by in a quick blur... insane!

We decided it was time for a few non-freeze dried items as well, so we found a Wild Oats and did some shopping... mmmmmm, yogurt, chikkums, fresh bread, and sushi... YUM!!! Back at the Enchanted Trails, we gorged on our purchases and called it a night.

Things we LOVE
"The Next Exit" - a book we picked up at a Flying J truck stop - absolutely a necessity if you do any kind of traveling. Excellent, affordable find!

Things we HATE
Getting an automated call from the water company reminding me I forgot to pay the water bill!!
