Where shall we start? It seems your blogger suffers from selective memory loss... which would mean I probably forgot to tell you that before we left Gulfport for FL, we stopped at PJs so that Chris could get some road coffee and I could leave my wallet in their bathroom. The best part is that I didn't even realize it until we stopped for Starbucks in Tallahassee the next day and I had a fabulously over-the-top temper tantrum about not... being... able... to... FIND ANYTHING!!!! Chris, in his usual, casual, congenial way asks, "when was the last time you saw it?"

"At PJs, when we stopped for coffee!!" I yelled back, inappropriately.

Still calm, but not thrilled about being yelled at, he responds, "Any chance you left it there? Seems like I remember seeing it laying around there."

"No! I distinctly remember walking out with it in my hand. And I don't leave my wallet laying around everywhere, you know!" I snapped, as he patiently went through all of our bags, looking for my wallet.

Rather than help him, I called 411, because I figured he was probably right (he usually is). He was. I left my wallet in Gulfport, MS. Not good "road trip" behavior. I hate it when I do stoopid stuff like that...

But wait, it's not over, because an hour after we left Tampa 3 days later, Ryan called me and asked if I wanted him to send me my phone charger... DOH!!! I sincerely hope this is not a trend, leaving something I need in each state we spend time...

So, Chris finished his article for Studio Photography and Design magazine, his second for them. I thought it very well written. Now comes the Herculean task of shooting the negs of the images he wants them to use with the article. What he does is put the negative on a mini light table, sets up the tripod with the digital camera and shoots a picture of the neg. Then it's a matter of inverting it in photoshop and cleanup. Sounds simple, right? It is, but it is sooooooooooooooooo time consuming! As is putting each of the negs in a protective archival sleeve and writing the ID on the sleeve, which is what I've been doing all day long...

And, unfortunately, in photoshopping the images, he has discovered, [gasp], that one of his Razzle field cameras has a light leak... not good! Not good AT all!! So now we have a traitor in our midst... equipment that is not performing to the best of its ability... Chris is negotiating its return to Australia for a tune-up, otherwise, we'll be needing a pistol to put it out of our misery...

Things we HATE
Photo labs that a) don't use archival products and b) don't sleeve each negative individually before putting the neg in a negative storage page.

Things we LOVE
Being able to make digital "scans" of film negs without a scanner
Watching Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report in our trailer because the RV park has cable!

So, unfortunately, we really don't have much all to tell since we've been holed up in Bokeh, IDing and Photoshopping for the last 8 hours.

But, we did connect with Tara Young, a former Times-Picayune reporter who now works for the Houston Chronicle. I found her blog, Post-K a few nights ago and we really wanted to include her in the project, but she declined. Instead, she gave us some great leads and wants to include our project in one of her blogs, which is pretty cool. Cross-posting on blogs is apparently a pretty big thing as I'm learning ;-) So, tomorrow, we set out for the Wset Side neighborhood to see what we see...

Backpackers Pantry Black Bean Tamale Pie
5 out of 10
What landed this a 5 is the tortilla chips - which were ASS!! otherwise, the topping was very tasty. One thing I didn't get about this meal was the name of it... why not just call it nachos? It's beans, tomatoes, cheese and, well, okay, I don't usually put rice on nachos, but still... I'm just sayin'....

Richmoor Turkey Tetrazini
8 out of 10
It was just what you'd expect and tasted fine. It needed some pepper, but otherwise it hit the spot. I'd eat this again.

PS: My mom's birthday is coming up, as is my nephew Ryan's. I couldn't remember the date of the latter (he's only two, I don't have it committed to memory yet), so I opened up the Palm Pilot calendar and just realized that we forgot Queeby's birthday on the 9th... Happy Belated Birthday, Queeby! Safe travels and we'll see you in Tulsa!
