Thursday, January 4, 2007

This day started out with dense fog, and mountainous terrain as we left the Pacific side of the peninsula for the east, and the shores of the Sea of Cortez. A long drive, but we wanted to get south asap (Hora Feliz, you know). Loretto is going through a boom of construction again. Poor Mulege was hit by the storm flooding of hurricane John, and badly damaged. The evidence of many washed out "vados" having been repaired from the huge temporary rivers of mud and stones was all along the highway.
Now we have wireless Internet at El Moro campground, and so this update!
On to La Paz today, and Geraldos VW shop: we have a cracked engine head, and are leaking coolant.

Check Back!!
Does Eve have her Water Wheels yet? Looks like you're on a massive check back there. And you have a leaking Head as well ... it doesn't bear thinking about.

One week down in the new job - just they wait till I get settled and can start stirring things up :) We may have found the place of our dreams out there - all we need now is an offer here. We had an open-house today with 21 souls braving the wind.

Love

J & L.
