Back to the big city for the last time to pick up our Russian visas. This time we avoided the backpacker ghetto of the lakeside at Boeung Kak and stayed elsewhere which was nice. However, we did end up going back there anyway to watch a film and have a few beers while the sun went down over the lake. We'd dropped our passports to the Russian embassy the previous week and now had to collect them from one of the friendliest consuls we've dealt with - he's actually kind of famous (in certain tiny circles that is) for being so friendly, and his consulate considered the easiest place in southeast asia to get a Russian visa. We had all our paperwork already, including an invitation from a Russian agency so there was no problem at all. We then hit off for the border with Thailand, on another epic day of travelling...
