Getting the groceries

We got the bus to KL (as everyone here calls it, and not just the ex-pats) from Malacca to get our flight in the morning to Borneo. Unfortunately, we had to spend some time shopping for groceries, which in this case was malaria pills for me and a sleeping sack for Jenny (we sent our sleeping bags home, too bulky and it's too humid anyway). This kind of thing can be pretty headwrecking when you know where you're going, but we didn't, so lots of frustration involved especially getting the pills. But we got sorted in the end, after lots of wandering in and out of pharmacy-like places in Chinatown (dirty and smelly and loud with buses, but food's good), and wandering about on the metro.
So off we went to see the Petronas Towers (they're tall and tower-like alright) and the colonial area which has lots of cool Arabic architecture, and some colonial stuff too which just looks twee in comparison.
But enough of all that, our main purpose was to catch our flight to Borneo! Asian Air is the Asian equivalent of Ryanair so for 50 squids we are both flying across to the Sarawak province of Malaysia on the island of Borneo. Our aim to get anywhere overland or even pretend some semblence of an anti-flight bias is well and truly out the window now. So those changes in climate you're seeing? We did that. But screw it, it's my holidays right? And who are climatologists to argue against me having a good time...
