One thing about Prague that thrilled me was how cheap it was. When you start living in Europe and you have to get used to crappy Dollar-Euro exchange rates, it's disappointing to say the least. However, in Prague, they use Czech crown. I pulled out 2,000 Czech crowns from the ATM which turned out to be about 80 euros- and I didn't spend more than that my entire weekend. I actually still have quite a bit left over (to show to all my American friends in hopes that they'll be a little jealous :p ). No, but in all seriousness, the money was quite beautiful and once you figured out what things should cost, you were good. Beer was cheaper than water- and quite tasty too.
The clubs/pubs were a blast. I met tons of interesting people and shared a brilliant evening with people from all over the world
My boots were made for walkin' when I was in Prague. I walked 8 hours straight, 2 days in a row just so that I could fit everything in that I wanted to do (it would have been less but I also visited Kutna Hora- the Bone Chapel).
Prague has a Czech dish called "Meat in sweet sauce" ( I don't know the Czech name), but if you ask for this, they should know what you mean. It's this Thanksgiving-like tasting meal that's absolutely delicious! It was utterly thrilling to experience some new food that wasn't an Italian dish. Don't get me wrong- I love Italian food and am not sick of it, but every now and again you need to switch it up to keep your palate on edge.
On to Kutna Hora- it's best known for the Bone Church where over 40,000 bones are complied into artistic expressions. It was... incredible. Others were slightly creeped out by the slight but I thought it was such a magnificent way to give beauty to things that are often perceived as having lost their beauty. Perhaps it's just because I like bones, but I had a natural high the entire time.
I'd like to recommend New Europe walking Tours- esp. the ones in Europe. They had some FABULOUS guides that taught me a lot about everywhere I had the chance to visit!
