After the highs of the mountains we went to the lows of Rurrenabeque and the surrounding swamps. There you have a "pampas" region, which can be simply described as a large area with lots of water and a river in the middle that serves as an access route for boats.

To get there we took a plane rather that sit on a bus for 20 hours on a mud track which had been described as the real road of death, as more people die on it now. All safe then? Well not quite as this 18 seater is subject to a lot of turbulence (think big delays while you wait for clean air) and grass still covers much of the "airport".

It was quite an exciting ride. The trip itself wasnīt too bad either. We saw muchos animales, such as a tiger herons, turtles, pink dolphins (which we went for a little dip with...yay!), crocs (which we were assured didnīt mix with dolphins), toucans (which absolute rock the bird world) and much more, see pictures!
