Up early and to the Inka ruins (where the Inka’s inflicted a rare defeat on the Spanish) on the edge of the village by 7am to try and avoid the numerous coach parties. Spent a couple of hours walking around the different parts of the complex: the terracing, temples to the sun and water, store houses and various defensive buildings (the residential area was where the current village is). After some breakfast climbed up the opposite mountainside to see some other Inka ruins (a fort and more storage buildings) and then quickly ran down as the rain started. In the afternoon moved alond the Sacred Valley to Pisac, another major Inka site, and just spent the afternoon in a couple of coffee shops avoiding the rain.
