The first thing that I noticed about the wonderful city of Edinburgh is that I have developed an allergy to cats. A city of elegant old buildings and wonderful cobbled streets all hidden behind runny eyes, sniffles and sneezes. And all due to a bloody cat. A nice, friendly cat, owned by our lovely hosts, Sarah and Chris, but an irritating cat that left me wheezing like Darth Vader at night and meant I had to be pumped with anti-histamines each night so I could get at least a bit of sleep.
The safest thing to do was to go out. And with a plethora of pubs nearby, there was plenty of encouragement.
