Happy 1941 Partizan Day. I am unsure exactly what happened 64 years ago this very day, but it is cause fr celebration - get your Macedonian flags out and wave them like you just don't care.

We left the hospitable company (and nice apartment) of Martin and Biljana ths morning and travelled 167kms to Ohrid, which took 4 hours. The town of Ohrid is the only UNESCO-listed site in the country, and with good reason as it is on the banks of a huge lake (Lake Ohrid, unsurprisingly) and has an old town filled with churches. In the newest of these we gave the man who worked in the shop an impromptu lesson on English phrasal verbs and in return he expressed his disgust that I had no faith and was certain I should read the Macedonian Orthodox bible and be baptised immediately. He then looked horrified when we stated that most religions were actually pretty similar and pointed out a whole three differences between the Catholic and Macedonian Bibles.

I also managed to pick up the Macedonian football shirt I had been after. In a lovely bright yellow, so those of you who play football at Tile Hill on Monday nights, be prepared to be dazzled not only by my ridiculously silky skills, but also my ridiculously luminous outfit.....

We booked our flights home yesterday, and fly back into Coventry Airport on October 22nd.... hope to see many of you in a week or two...
