Well, I have arrived! This place is nothing short of amazing, as are the people. They are so happy and kind. Life here is slow paced and stress free, its almost impossible to explain without experiencing it for yourself. The vibe is laid back and carefree. The scenery is breathtaking as you will see from some of my pictures. I live in a very nice neighborhood full of tropical plant life and trees. Statues and cultural art are everywhere. My house is nice and very clean, my room is very cozy with a remote controlled air conditioner that they installed for me. I cant believe how kind and caring the people are. They picked me up from the airport in a Benz by a hired driver, fed me when I got into town, and then took me to the school where everyone was waiting to greet me. Its amazing how much this already feels like home and like I am meant to be here. Cendhy, my boss, is very sweet and quite a nice lady. She gave the day off(wednesday) to do what I wanted and to explore, so Mikal(my roomie) took me around. We went to some stores so I could buy some snacks and house things, then we went to a gym and waterpark to check out memberships. All the pictures you see in this blog are all within a few blocks in either direction of my house. I have barely explored anything yet and already find myself in awe of what I have seen.

Tomorrow I start my orientation at the school and will be sitting in on some classes to observe and meeting some of my future students. Most of the students there are young kids, which I am very excited about. The kids here are full of life and happy. There are 10 year olds driving around on motorcyles down the streets. There are MILLIONS of motorcycles everywhere, its crazy. You will see a picture of a small parking lot outside of a Plaza mall I went to today, full of them, and that is just one side!

My trip wasn't that bad and went pretty smooth. The 12 and half hours over the pacific went by pretty quick because it was at night and I slept somehow here and there, aside from the screaming Chinese kid that everyone wanted to strangle. Probably better to keep a low profile here, I already get enough attention as it is. I have yet to even see another American here, other than my roomie Mikal. Today at the mall was crazy because all the girls were just starring at me(not that Im not used to that....haha) and whispering to each in Bahasa. Many of the guys are very kind and always saying hello and wanting to talk, but I cant quite communicate with them yet. Luckily for me, Mikal is quite fluent in the language already and he talks to them for me.

Well, I would say I have to go because I have tons of errands to do and I have bills to pay and I have little time to do it all, but that would be a lie. I have to go explore a little more and Mikal and I are going to take a motorcycle taxi into the main city area and get something to eat and find me a basketball. I will be in touch soon and you know I will have lots of stories to tell and pictures to show. I love you all, and I thank everyone for their support and excitement for my life adventure.
