Arrived in Sydney early evening yesterday - weather was a little cooler but still a warm 20 degrees, decided to hire a car even though we hadn't planned on one and after picking it up set off to Bondi, unfortunately we got lost and ended up going under the harbour tunnel towards North Sydney and then back over the harbour bridge - which is a toll bridge and you need an e-pass which we didn't have so we got flashed by the camera.  Eventually arrived at the hostel in Bondi very tired.

Up early this morning and phoned the roads commission people to sort out our e-pass to avoid a big fine.  Had breakfast at the beach and strolled along the promenade and beach dipping our toes in the water which was not as cold as we thought it would be - nice views ;) Bondi was different to what we imagined it to be, the beach was smaller and the area is quite run down and full of people who couldn't speak English so communication was interesting in the cafes.  Left for Sydney mid morning.

Amazing city! We took a ferry ride across the harbour to Manly and had lunch.  The ferry gave us fantastic views of the bridge and the opera house.  The city has a really lovely atmosphere, very cosmopolitan, The Rocks which is the area we are staying in is full of steep roads and steps.  The accommodation in the Rocks is excellent, we have a very large en-suite room with views of the harbour and opera house and a roof terrace overlooking both - we were very surprised considering its Sydney's YHA.  Weather today was brilliant, blue sky and sunshine, very warm and hard to believe it's winter.

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who is following us and making comments, it keeps us in touch with home.  We have fun writing this blog and its really nice to know that people are enjoying following it.

Finally got a chance to actually sit down and catch up with all your blogging, and i have to say, you're doing a great job, really good following your progress on what looks like an AMAZING holiday. So glad it's going great, shame about the camera, and you have to have a few wrong turns / fines, makes it all interesting!

Anyway, keep on enjoying yourselves
