We had a ´Beach´ or ´Colonial Town´ dilemma the next morning but when we got to the bus station, we decided to head to Colonia as the weather wasn´t that great and we´d heard great things about this little place! It was a great decision and really nice to get on a local bus for a change through the countryside rather than an overnight mammoth affair!

We arrived around lunchtime and headed to a cute little hostel called ´La Espana´, on a quaint street with a high ceilinged roof and shutters. Paul decided to enjoy the sunshine for abit while I went for a wander!!! Think it might be one of the quaintist places we´ve seen on our travels...like a mini St Ives or something with old city walls, cobbled streets, a real olde world feel to it, cute cafes and shops, art galleries with the whole place smelling of jasmine & oranges! Mmmmm! Further along the coast, you could also make out cute little beaches! Very nice indeed! I had a lovely afternoon wandering aimlessly taking piccies and sitting drinking coffee in the main square, went back to find Paul who was now wide awake and we did the whole wander all over again! I wasn´t complaining! We had a quick afternoon snack and then headed back to the hostel with the intention of going out for dinner and to see a live band later in the evening....and then the heavens opened and we had the biggest thunderstorm ever...the lightening even hit the courtyard of the hostel! So we decided to wait until the rain had died down abit and consequently fell asleep!!!!!! It´s a hard life travelling you know!

After an early brekkie in the plaza and an ice cream (we have to have at least one in every country!), we were back on the bus to head to a port further down the coast and a boat back to Tigre in Argentina as we really wanted to be in BA on a Saturday night! This turned out to be a really scenic way to get back as we headed all through the river system north of BA and as we got closer & closer, the houses started to get posher & posher, the boats got bigger and we figured out (we´re intelligent you know!) that this must definitely be where Argentina´s jet set come & chill out on a weekend! There was a horrible stench in certain bits of it though...think they need to put there money towards sorting that out don´t you!!! We arrived in Tigre which we thought had a great feel to it...set on the river, lots of bars, shops & restaurants and only 50 mins from BA by train, we thought that this would be a nice way to commute into the city! We jumped on the train and stood next to a guy with the biggest affro we have EVER seen, arrived in BA, jumped on the tube and guess where we headed! Go on...we´ll give you 3 guesses! Our Restaurant was crammed though and we got shunted in the back room with a different chef and our steak wasn´t as good! Boooooo! And there were we, thinking we were locals now! Never mind...there´s always tomorrow!!!!!!!
