We arrived in sunny, sunny Adelaide at about 5 o´clock and pulled up at the Greenways apartments ready and waiting for our big reunion with Team Smedders senior and guess what...they were out!!! How inconsiderate is that! Hee Hee! So we decided to be vindictive and surprise them!! We wandered down the road and just happened to see them strolling towards us so we dived behind a wall giggling like school children, waited until they´d gone past and then literally jumped on them!!! Think we nearly gave them both heart-attacks, think Sid nearly jumped about half a meter into the air! Whoops! Lots of hugs later, we made it up to our executive apartment (certainly a step up from what we´d been used to) and embarked on the mission of 6 months catch-up in other words, everyone talking at once!!
My clumsiness soon returned as soon as a domesticated task was required i.e
The next morning, we decided to explore the sights of Adelaide and again had bright blue skies and sunshine!!! We sneaked into the Oval cricket ground (cheeky freebie!) which was really nice (think its supposed to have the nicest setting of all the cricket grounds!)& took a rather lifelike photo of me posing as an international cricketer , wandered down by the river which was beautiful and like autumn with all the leaves in their bright colours and headed into the Botanical Gardens which were again beautiful! Really love autumn anyway so was great to catch up with it in Adelaide! Had tea in the park and then went on some random parrot chasing through the bushes (you can ask Shirley & Sid about that one!) We then introduced the Senior to a Team Smedders walking tour taking in the museums and the buildings, etc - WOW you haven´t lived until you´ve got horrendously lost on one of my guided tours
We decided to head to Glenelg for a picnic lunch which is about a half hour tram ride out of Adelaide and with the sun shining seemed like the perfect way to while away the afternoon! Had sandwiches & scones on a bench overlooking the sea...very nice indeed and saw a pub we were convinced was called ´Pie & Pint´- on closer inspection this showed our imagination working overtime! Amusing though! We wandered around the harbour which sort of resembled a smaller scale of Vilamoura/French Riviera and then headed back into Adelaide accompanied by 2 mad nutters! No not Shirley & Sid, another 2 ozzie weirdos shouting at each other even though they were sat about 30cm away from each other!!! Hee Hee!
In the evening, we went to a very nice pub in a converted cathedral just across the road from our flat and had a FAB meal (this was Xmas dinner...decided to celebrate a special occasion every night!). Paul had the biggest burger you have ever seen in your life and all was accompanied by a rather lovely bottle of bubbly! We could get used to this! After dinner, we took Sid & Shirls out on the town again to meet Grandad (Team Kak mini-reunion) who also happened to be in Adelaide! We stayed out a little later than the Seniors and returned rather tipsy...we must have been as we were pirouhetting down the pavement (????) and I have vague memories of being pushed half the way back in a shopping trolley!!! Hmmmmmm!

At the Botanical Gardens
. laundry when I managed to spill a full carton of washing powder all over the floor! Yes mum & dad, some things will never change! :0) We spent a lovely night in the apartment with good home-cooked food (chicken & veg) accompanied with a rather nice bottle of rose wine and some bubbles! Yipppeeee! A few bevvies later, we decided to hit the town and go out for a drink or 2 - Adelaide was completely DEAD so we found possibly the only bar open and sank some bevvies instead!!! Great start to Team Smedders Senior & Junior on tour! The next morning, we decided to explore the sights of Adelaide and again had bright blue skies and sunshine!!!
