It's dive time! Or is it???!!!

So the moment of truth...judgement day and the dive dilemma! After our interesting experience doing our Open Water course on honeymoon in Zanzibar, would I be able to pluck up the courage to don my wetsuit once more!!!!! On the morning of the trip the board in the Scuba Junkie office said...

What do you reckon? Did I do it??????????? Answers on a postcard!!!

Well... thanks to a lovely Canadian called Bryce, the answer is a resounding YES!!! 3 times infact!! The dive company were FAB and really made me feel comfortable with the whole thing! Things were looking up when we headed out on a speedboat rather than a leaking wooden fishing boat, when all the air cannisters were stacked up in their assigned places (rather than rolling up and down the middle of the boat!) and the staff were not scooping out water with buckets! I uummed and aaahed on the way out to Sipidan but as they started dishing out the equipment I said 'YES I'LL DO IT!' (The decision was as hard when Paul asked me to marry him!)

The diving was excellent (apart from a brief mishap when I knocked my regulator out!!!! My buddy was too busy taking photos to come to my rescue! It's a good job I remained calm (well sort of!) in a crisis!) We saw our first white-tipped shark, lots of turtles and more fish than you see down your local chippy! But no mushy peas or gravy (no we haven't been drinking!) We had 2 dives at Sipidan (Paul saw Nemo twice at the second site but I'm still searching!) and our third was at a place called Mabul where they have basically re-created a wreck dive on the stilts of the oil rig and the sea bed. Basically you get to see lots of unusual fish that you don't see in many places such as frogfish, crocodile fish, and scorpion fish! Along with a hundred other varieties that we haven't got a clue about but they look nice! All in all, we had a great day if not knackering and ended the day with a picnic in bed (I couldn't be bothered to move and once again decided to turn an interesting colour of scarlet!) and very early snoozing! Reckon I've had more exercise in the last 2 weeks than I've had in my whole life! Being a Smedley's hard work...much preferred being lazy Dawn Hirst!!!!
