From paradise, we headed down to Krabi. Our original plans pre-tsunami had been to go to Ko Phi Phi about 40km off the coast from Krabi but had been told on numerous occasions that it was so devastated that you couldn't get there anymore. We were therefore surprised on arriving in Krabi to see posters everywhere asking tourists to come to Phi Phi either to volonteer with the clean up or just to spend money with the businesses that had managed to re-open, etc. We had decided that we didn't really have time to go there as we'd sneaked in Surin and Khao Sok but then a random meeting with a Norwegian couple over dinner got the better of our consciences and we decided to go over for a night on our way to Malaysia!!!
Because all this thinking was going on, we didn't actually see alot of Krabi - all we can say is that we had great seafood at a great little night market on the seafront and the traffic lights have apes on them! Oh yes and Paul got me drunk....again....
