Early morning we jumped on a bus and headed south to Cambodia's seaside town of Sihanoukville! The town itself is abit of a dump but the beach area is very chilled out with bars and restaurants (complete with lots of tacky fairylights which I obviously loved!) all the way along the beachfront! We stayed at Occhiteul Beach in the Lucky Guesthouse (Orchidee was full G & R but we were right opposite!!!) which was a couple of 100m away from the beach! Niiiice! Mr Smedley treated me to a romantic candlelit meal on the beach on our first night...he's got this theory that he'll never have to take me out for a meal again when we get home as he's taken me out for every meal since we've been away!!!! We'll see!

Our second day was great as we went on a boat/snorkelling tour of the islands! One in particular stood out called Bamboo Island and we both wished we could have stopped there for more than a few hours! It's got 9 bamboo shacks on the beach and a bar/restaurant and that's it! At night there is no electricity and one of the guy's was saying that its just like being in a planetarium as you can see so many stars and the water glows with phospherous (got that wrong but think you'll know what I mean!!!)! MAD! I was very brave and went on an adventure to the other side of the island all on my own - I nearly turned back for Mr Smedley about 3 times but I made it! All you could hear were the sounds of the jungle....eerie! The beach at the other side was completely empty and untouched! I felt like Robinson Crusoe! Finished off with a freat BBQ lunch of barracuda...yummy! The snorkelling was OK but the visibility wasn't great as the masks we were given were abit rubbish but it was a great day!!. Bamboo Island
