We wish you a Merry Christmas...in the sun!!! Very bizarre and not the same at all but hey we made the most! We decided to treat ourselves and checked into the Lane Xiang Hotel in Vientiane equipped with a swimming pool..oh yes! It was great as well as when we checked in we got upgraded to a Junior Suite - Happy Christmas Team Smedders! The room or should I say rooms were HUGE and the bed the comfiest ever! Heaven! Xmas Eve we had a chilled out evening and found a restaurant to have our Xmas lunch the next day and took a festive Xmas photo infront of the Xmas tree! Awwwww!

Xmas day we woke up bright and early and went to the Post Office...as you do on Xmas day and sent some e-mails. Spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool - I have to admit to being quite massively homesick in the run-up to Xmas (couldn't stop thinking about Lindley Clock Tower and the Xmas carols!) so it was quite a relief in a way for Xmas day to come and get it over with in the nicest possible sense of the word as the other side of it was that it was really really nice for both of us to spend Xmas day together!!! Awww... no puking boys! After having Xmas phone calls with both sets of parents (yipppeee!) we opened our pressies and went out for Xmas dinner! It was the best (didn't beat yours mum!) We had roast beef and yorkshire pudding with roast potatoes and veg..and it was really really good! 'Last Christmas' by Wham was even playing! Hoping to attach a movie peg we took...stay tuned! We ended the evening in true Laos stylie eating these yummy banana pancakes we've discovered! Not good for your arteries but they taste divine...its basically a crepe with chopped bananas in it covered in condensed milk and sugar!! Mmmmmmmm! HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!
