We found Luang Prabang to have some beautiful buildings and a FAB setting on the Mekong but was extremely touristy! This was abit unexpected as everyone had told us that Laos was really the unspoilt country within Asia - even the people are not as friendly as in Thailand and we felt abit of a resentment in general towards tourists! Boooo! Feel free to write and tell us your highlights if you've been and tell us where we're going wrong! It's been my motto to smile at everyone and its always been reciprocated but not here for some reason! Maybe I'm losing my charm...no cheeky comments please! :0)

Spent a nice day wandering around exploring the town and again watched a stunning sunset from Phu Si...along with 50 other tourists seeing who could lift their camera highest to get the best shot! Think we won! I had a competition with a 7 year old on the way up who was seriously setting the pace climbing the steps to the top...I beat her though and no I didn't cheat!

We're planning to head back to Luang Prabang for Chrimbo as we are intending crossing border into Vietnam in the far North-West so need to be heading North pretty much straight after Xmas!
