We arrived in Chiang Kong v excited at the prospect of country number 2! I was abit nervous actually as it was our first overland border crossing but all was well and good! We'd arranged our Visa for Laos through our guesthouse in Chiang Mai and had it delivered to their partner guesthouse in Chiang Kong - bit nervous about sending passports off, etc but we had no reason to worry, everything was there waiting for us when we got there! Phew! The guesthouse had amazing views over the Mekong and the sunset was one of the best we've seen so far...v enjoyable over a couple of beers!
