As we get further and further north, the mornings and evenings get really cold! Whats going on there then and yet I can burn during the day...although saying that it doesn't take much with my skin!!!! Paul's already nicely tanned and I'm just rouge!!!!
Anyway Lampang! Apparently this is the only place in Thailand now where you can take rides around the town in horse and carriage!! And as we are now accustomed to travelling in this way due to the wedding, we thought it was only just and fair to give it a whirl in Lampamg...apart from it was sunny! :0) One of the sites in Lampang is a clock tower, but mum and dad you'll be glad to know that its not half a simpressive as Lindley Clock Tower!!!!
We ventured out of town to a Wat which is supposed to be the most impressive in Northern Thailand

Afternoon tea on the way to Lampang!
! Very nice but obviously not as cracking as the Grand Palace and the likes that we'd already seen on our way up but we were glad we made the effort! We tried some Thai sausage for brekkie which was yummy and rather than getting a songthaew back to the nearest town, we decided to walk! Great decision as crossing a bridge we saw some smartly dressed men in uniform emptying carrier bags into the river - being the nosy pair that we are, we decided to go and see what was going on! As it happens it was the Kings birthday, and one of the local traditions is for the government officials to let fish go into the river as a symbol of good luck for the King! (putting life back into the sea!!!) - we were lucky enough to be asked to join them and emptied some fish into the river as well! How cool is that!!!!
