After a nice sleep in we decided to visit The Stedelijk Museum. This is a museum for modern art, contemporary art, and design in Amsterdam. It is located at the Museum Square close to the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Concertgebouw. Papa was disappointed to see that the Rijks and Van Gogh are both closed. We rode Reinie's bike through the city and first had lunch at the museum. I had steak and chips and papa enjoyed another dutch speciality "kroketten". Next we toured the newly renovated museum and we were both impressed despite the high entry price. Our senses were challenged by the modern art that used a variety of colours and shapes. We enjoyed the famous Mondriaan cubist painting and the Karel Appel / CoBrA paintings also received great reviews from papa and me. When we left we zigzagged our way home even dropping of at the local supermarket. At home Johan had just finished work and Reinie just got home too in time for dinner drinks. Our hosts were off to a birthday party and both looked lovely. Papa and me decided to have Indonesian for Dinner and we made our way to "Kantjil and the Tiger" in the Spuistraat. Wow this was the best Indonesian food ever, and even papa had trouble dealing with the spicy food. After dinner a nice walk home during which I rehearsed the people who would be at the family day. Can't wait to meet all these new cousins, aunties and uncles tomorrow.
