Max, or Machteld as she used to be known works at the Boymans Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam and once we had managed to get our act together we left to go and see her at work. We parked and Max was there to meet us and then gave us visitor passes to the museum. Great to see the exhibits and also walk past the gallery where Max was putting together a section for the next exhibition about design. I especially enjoyed the dog paintings and the one about fashion too.

We went to Hotel New York for lunch and saw some ships come and go in the busy waterway through Rotterdam. A further tour past an old cruise ship and we were back on our way to Oostvoorne, we drove past the old mill in Geervliet and as papa had even worked here too once, we stopped and went in. It is really cool that it has been made into a restaurant. We went up to the second floor and looked around and through the window I could see the windmill thingies that go round and round.

After dinner, Willemijn came round for a cup of tea and to say Goodbye. We talked for hours about everyone and her son, Rob, probably had red ears as he called from Lagos to say Bon voyage too. They are all so nice. The Christmas atmosphere is really here with one candle melting all over Oma's table and in the streets, fireworks are already being lit by boys racing away in a car. I know there not much I don't miss.
