My last day in Paris.  We took it easy today.  We met up with some of Helena's friends who also live in Paris and Gif.  I really enjoy the blending in with the locals.  I've found that the French make more of an effort to speak English, than the German people I met.  This is nice and we had some good conversations today in the middle of the beautiful Luxemburg park.
I had European fast food today.  A place called Quick.  It's almost like a want to be McDonalds.  The interesting part is that you can't customize your order.  The burgers are very standard and they make then prior to your order.  With only a handful of things on the menu, it's almost kind of works.  Another interesting part is that in America, we go all out on the size or the amount of burger paddies we have.  But in France, they go all out on their cheese.  My burger was special and cost more because it had 3 different kinds of cheese on it
After dinner we walked around the Latin quarter for a while, watched some of the street performers and enjoyed the lively atmosphere.  Then to celebrate my last in Paris, we went to the store, purchased a bottle of champagne, and took a strolle along the island in Paris, the same one that Notre Dame is built on.  There was live Reggee music with a band playing mostly covers for Bob Marley.  A group of travelers invited us to join them.  We met people from Poland, Russia, Spain, and Seattle.  It was really a cool experience and it is evident that hundreds of people do just the same.
It was interesting, in Paris they work on a different time clock.  We eat breakfast,  as usual, but lunch comes between 1 and 2 and dinner around 8 or 9 sometimes 10.  When it truly doesn't get dark until 11, most of the night life doesn't even start until past midnight.  The club we went to the previous night didn't even open until midnight.  Tomorrow i head for London.
