To be honest, we didn't really make the most of Buenos Aires. We arrived there a day later than expected and spent most of our time there trying to organise the next stages of our trip.

As we hadn't got that long in Buenos Aires, we decided to go on a city tour booked through our hostel, mistakenly thinking that it would be a walking tour with people around our own age. We were very very wrong. At the start of the tour we were given a sticker with our guide's name on it to wear and escorted onto a large coach full of old American tourists also called "Paola". Loud dance was music belting out on the bus much to the annoyance of the "cheery guy" and his wife sitting next to us. We managed to amuse ourselves for a while with stupid dancing and sneaky photographs of "cheery guy" until the real Paola started making us all applaud each nationality on the bus in turn. "Cheery guy" didn't seem particularly impressed by my overenthusiastic cheering. We were herded off the bus a few times and given 15 minutes to see the sights at each destination. The highlight of the tour though was the real Paola singing us a Tango song (think bad karaoke on a coach) and then being presented with a photo of our heads on Tango dancer bodies (which they wanted us to pay $10 for). David opted for the speedy 10 minute visit to the Boca football stadium which he assures me was worth the 9 pesos and that Andrew Startup will verify this (???).

In summary, Buenos Aires is big, has lots of shops and lots of cars.
