An early departure again.  Just like getting up for work.

We drove through 'Little House on the Prairie' country today.  How exciting.

We stopped mid morning at a place called the Corn Palace in Mitchell.  The corn palace is a basketball stadium that is covered in fresh corn.  A local treasure that most likely crowns a local teenage girl as the Corn Queen or something.  The corn  designs on the building resemble the district displays at the Royal Easter Show.  Very impressive.  The corns attracted bees and wasps though which was funny as that was the quickest way to get ther Germans on the bus.

Our lunch stop was at 'Al's Big Oasis' where Buffalo Burgers were the order of the day.  We had simple sandwiches as 'Who eats buffalo?'.  The restaurant walls were adorned with animal skins and indian headresses.

Found a supermarket where we bought some fresh fruit (yay!)...Oh, the fresh fruit is in the same isle as 17 different caliber of Winchester bullets and ammunition.  Yep, hicksville indeed.

Later that day we stopped in the 'Badlands' to look at the sand and mountain formations.

We finished the day with a trip to Mount Rushmore to see the 4 Presidents immortilised in stone.  It was raining again literally minutes before we arrived but fined up so we could get a good look.  It was 10 degrees C when we arrived.  It's supposed to be summer for crying out loud!

We arrived late, very late to the hotel in Deadwood so didn't get that much of a chance to see anything.
