Don't panic, just the last remaining breath of the hurricane.
What should have been a wonderful day at leisure in Chicago turned out to be THE worst wind and rain we have ever seen. The best you could do for the day was to stay in shops or malls as these were the driest place to be.
The day started out good with a free breakfast which saves us money. We caught the bus into the city thinking that the rain would clear however it just got worse. We shopped as already mentioned and made our way back to the hotel via the local bus service. A little bit daunting as we don't know where we are going but we arrived safely at the hotel. Thankfully they had a washing machine and dryer so we had a chance to do a load.
While the clothes were drying David shopped at the book store right across from the hotel.
We also found a much needed internet cafe and later that night as he got into bed received a call from Australia.....from someone asking a question thinking I was still working fro Pac Brands. Great, David has to pay for that call!
