Let me start today's entry with this:  Australians are THE most polite people on this earth.

Now that is off my chest I can continue.

We departed Detroit early and stopped mid-morning in Kalamazoo at a placed called Theo and Stacey's.  Even though most of the tour had already had breakfast they still insist on eating again.  We cannot get over the amount of food these people put away.

We then travelled the rest of the day through Indiana and wound up in South Chicago later afternoon where we had a small city tour of the University area and to look at some of the building that Frank Lloyd Wright had designed.  Didn't think much of South Chicago.  We then stopped on the side of Lake Michigan for a photo stop of the skyline of tyhe City of Chicago.  We now understand why they call her the Windy City.  Worse then Heffron Park on a Saturday afternoon!

We finished the day with 90min free time (for shopping) and a trip up 103 floors of the Sears Tower.  Would you believe that the tower was covered by clouds only 30mins before we went up!  The views were amazing.

Out hotel, though a little bit out of the way was in such a great position with great restaurants and shops close by.

We have a full day of leisure in Chiago tomorrow which we are looking forward to.

A few observations:  The taps in the bathroom turn the wrong way as do the light switches as do the doors in buildings.  We will certainly know how to speak German by the time we come home.  Sandie and I have become the 'Technical Support' for most of the tour bus as we are asked to help with camera's, mobile phones etc.  We have also been asked to give directions in Niagra Falls and also asked to help a Welsh couple in using an ATM in D.C.
