Left Washington D.C. after two very enjoyable days.

Travelled to Gettysburg. Very eery standing looking over the location of the Battle of Gettysburg.

The rest of day we travelled through Pennsylvania and upstate New York to arrive at the U.S./Canadian border at Niagra Falls where we went through the quickest Customs inspection ever.

Niagra Falls now looks more like side show alley or Surfers Paradise which has detracted from the falls.

Next day rode on the Maid of the Mist ferry which takes you right up to nearly under the falls. Lots of fun photos in our blue ponchos to protect us from the spray.

Had lunch on the Skylon Tower which overlooks the Falls. We were so relieved to finally have real food in a revolving restaurant.

Travelled the rest of the day to Detroit Michigan.

Catching up and remembering....
Hi guys
I've just been catching up on all your blogs and have had a lovely time reliving your moments and remembering our trip to the good old US of A back in 2000. But next time I go, I want to go with you guys as Danny doesn't do shopping and it sounds like you've bought the place out. I'm exhausted reading about all your escapades. All sounds fabulous. Can't wait to hear more.

Just to let you know if no one else has....
Morris Iemma has resigned and we have a new Premier. Nathan Rees - used to be Minister for Water. Only 40 (same age as you David)and a cranky young man (not like you David), so who knows what might happen. The budget is a shambles. Costa has been sacked but won't go. Reba Meagher has stepped down from Cabinet and it is looking more and more likely Frank will get Health. Lots of fun and games.

Also Dragons will come in either 6th or 7th (depending on the Raiders v Bulldogs game this afternoon and how much the Raiders win by). Which means we have either the Sharks or, either Manly or Storm next Saturday (again depending on how much Storm beat Souths by today - that is of course unless Souths have a blinder!!! and beat the Storm, and then Manly will be first and Storm will be a definite second and we will play them) . Confused yet? Either way, we will be playing on Saturday and I will be working on the election so I'm going to have to depend on a replay to see the game.

I'm loving Canterbury. I can now compare notes about Council meetings with you Sandie.

Keep having fun and seeing lots. Looking forward to the photos.
Love
Lia

Hi from Mum and Dad on Father's Day
Hi David,

This is Craig typing a message on Mum and Dad's PC. News from Home : Morris Iemma has resigned as Premier and local member for Lakemba. John Watkins has resigned as Minister and local member for Ryde. Reba Meagher has resigned as Minister for Health. They are dropping like flies.

Mum is here now : Dad has every Clive Cussler book; the last one being 'The Plague Ship'. If there are any new books since that one, please get them if you have room in your new bag. The last book by Nora Roberts No.3 of the 'Sign of Seven' trilogy : 'The Pagan Stone' if available could you get it.

Did you get wet in the 'Maid of the Mist' ?

Ricky was out during lunch and sat on my shoulder the whole time. He swears really good now. He chews my glasses and ear just like Cosmo.

It has rained quite heavily since Friday and all day Saturday too. Sunny today.

Looking forward to your next message,

Best Wishes,

Mum, Dad, Craig (and Nan).
