This it would be a great opportunity to rant and rave...but.
We are on holidays and have to expect that sometimes things just happen. And yesterday, things happened.
Other than our flight leaving Sydney being delayed from 10.20am to 11.15am then finally leaving at 1.15pm we were happy that Qantas were diligent in making sure that the safety measures were being followed with the plane. You see, when the plane is so high in the sky the air temperature is -40C so when the de-icing mechanism on the jet engine fails it's nice to know they could fix it so that the engine wouldn't cease up. All in all, an unevent flight to LA. After arriving over 3 hours late we were not worried about missing our conecting flight to NY as it was the same flight but because we were late we had to get another plane. Luckily though it was just another QF 747-400! David didn't even have a chance to got to the loo as we were whisked away to our next flight.
We actually slept on the flight to NY to then be put in a holding pattern for 45mins before we could land then sat on the runway for 60mins waiting to get to the disembarking gate.
So we finally got to the hotel at 11.00pm and had dinner at 11.15pm. A full 24 hours from door to door. And we are safe.
This morning we are off to Woodbury Common which is a 220 factory outlet place an hour out of Manhattan. Sandie has a wad of cash in her hot little hand. Don't worry, we have comfortable walking shoes on.
Hope all is well with everyone and we will keep this updated whenever possible. I promise some photo's soon.

Hi from Mum, Dad and Craig
Hi Sandie and David,
Dad rang today to say that they recieved your latest blog message but were unsure how to answer it. Sounds like you are both safe and sound and enjoying yourselves. No dramas at this end (although I am on the last week of the research contract, so need to start looking for a job). Ricky is having a great time with his Nephew. Looks like he also spends a lot of time in the kitchen with Mum watching TV.
Anyway, keep the reports coming.
Best Wishes,
Craig
