Elections in Lille
Elections in Lille

we left their house at about 12-1pm roughly walked back to our drop of point in Lille and scored a ride within 20-30mins, the driver (kimmy remembers his name but she's in the shower now) was only going a short way, but then decided to drop us off at the Frence-Beligium border.
After spending a few hours with no luck (but sandwidges to comfort us : ) we got a lift with a wholesale flower driver called Kriss.  We got in with him and he drove us all to Rotterdam in one ride.  I should add riding in a truck is alot better imho then a car, we had a small bed we sat on in the middle of the cab, and a huge near 180 view from the front from a hight.  it rocked like a ship on slow waves, slowly bouncing back and forth.

Kriss dropped us off about 800m from the city center, just a short walk, and the bags were feeling lighter then before.  We passed a couple of squats and tryed the bell, but no answer.  After finding the nearest place were we might find a internet cafe we walked around and bumped into some guys who pointed us to the nearest coffee shop.

Over some tea we talked about our plans in the city and where to find somewhere to sleep.  The bar tender pointed us to an open internet shop at this time (near midnight) and we started to trek across the city, passing over a canal and thru the chinese district.

Using Paz's Couchsurfing user name we found Arthur Haverkamp living in the suburbs of Rotterdam who after we rang him, was happy to have us stay at his place :)

After a short ride on the Metro we found his house and dropped our bags, ate some food paz wanted to try (fryed onions and apple with some soy) with bread.  And chatted with Arthur untill we crashed out, special mention to Paz's bed, a hamok hung outside the flats balcony (12th floor) which was almost like a coccoon.
