After Newcastle we headed up the coast, eight hours on the trusty greyhound to Coffs Harbour. The journey felt longer due to a couple of hangovers and being subjecting to 'Meet the Fockers' in Hungarian was helping matters. Why Hungarian you ask? Why Hungarian I ask too, though I think the technical (lack of) nuance of the driver may have had somethig to do with it. Come on, he gets paid to drive, not work the dvd player.

We arrived in Coffs Harbour, a small seaside town in the late afternoon and got some accommodation sorted. It was certainly heating up as we headed north so was feeling pretty fatigued on a regular basis but I think we were both adapting slowly but surely. Now Coffs Harbour is a very nice place and I do not want to do it a disservice, I had a nice swim in the very calm and warm sea, had a nice sit on the beach etc, but its not exactly a place that will live long in the memory. A lot of backpackers visit, though I seem to suspect its really a stop off place more than anything else. So a couple of pleasant days relaxing, but that was about that. The next stop however, is Byron Bay, surf's up!
