Hi,

Apologies for the lack of communication on this front, though we can safely say the USA is the land of the laptop traveller - lots of places with wireless internet etc, though if you don't have a computer with you this isn't much good... We are currently in Everett, a suburb of Boston. This is mainly due to places being booked up elsewhere, though the hostel here seems cool and has been visited by both JFK and John Lennon....hmmm I see a trend here!!!
Anyway, since leaving England we have been to New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York again and now Boston.

New York was cool but typically busy. We have been up the Empire State building, seen Avenue Q on broadway, Times Square, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, Greenwich Village etc etc. It was great to head there but pretty hectic even by London's standards!! We spent our evenings up in Harlem which was pretty interesting but not as scary as some would have you believe...

After a few days in NYC we headed down to Philadelphia - what a great place. We both loved it, had a great place to stay and met some great people there. The weather was also unseasonably warm which also helps. We ran (well walked) up the Rocky steps, explored the market street area and checked out some of the bars which was all good fun. The Philadelphia Phillies baseball team are also in the playoffs which has led to great excitement in the city - all good fun!!

We stayed in Philly a bit longer than expected - due in part to a public holiday in the US meaning there was nowhere to stay in Washington DC - led to a mild panic but we managed to find somewhere in West Philadelphia for the night and then we headed down to Washington DC early the next morning - on the China Town express...a little sketchy but very cheap. I think they also use there buses as delivery vans so they are not the nicest vehicles in the world but for $15 for a 3 hour journey you can't complain. I didn't know what to expect from Washington but really enjoyed it - saw the Whitehouse. Abe Lincoln memorial, capitol hill and FBI headquarters among other things. Was really, really warm - over 80 degrees. All is all, a nice few days in DC.
We then headed back up to New York for a night - arrived in the afternoon, went for a curry and then went to sleep - that was about that!

Next day, another 4 hour bus journey, this time to Boston...more soon...! If/when I work out how to add photos on this thing I will post these thus far!
