Packed up and left Cusco via tour bus to Puno at 7am. On the trip we stopped at Quiquijama where qe checked out a chuch and small museum. Racchi, where the biggest Inca temple was built. Stopped for lunch in the small town of Sicuani and checked out a museum in the high plains of the Andes. The town is called Pucara. In this very small museum there is the oldest mummy found in Peru - 3000 years before Christ. The oldest is in Chile - 6000BC.

Two things I found out about this trip: there are 300 churches along this route because the Spaniards replaced all temples they found with Catholic Churches. The second is that every church I have been in is different, unique and usually contains a gaudy amound of gold. However, you are not able to take any pictures in any of these churches, so you will just have to take my word for it... Or don't, I guess.

About an hour out of Puno lies a town called Juliaca. It inhabits 300,000 people and is the trading centre for all of the surrounding rural areas. I am pretty sure there were no Incas here. This is the ugliest city I have ever seen. Not even grass until half way through the city. I took a picture to give you an idea, but it too a half hour to get through it.
