Santa Teresa is a funky little surf town on the Nicoya Peninsula. We were led to believe that there was little more to do than surf. However, we arrived to a rather large town comprising of, Mal Pais, Playa El Carmen, Santa Teresa and Playa Hermosa. All of these small towns string along the coast making a nice sized town of shops, a thousand grocery stores and heaps of Hostels.

We totally blew the budget in Santa Teresa, mainly due to the fact that we hired a Quad Bike for two days. Was totally worth the money though as we were able explore some virtually isolated beaches in the area.

Unfortunately for me there was no surfing in Santa Teresa with swells of around 10 feet coming through over Christmas. Dave managed to have a crack each day (I think he's beginning to think he can give Kelly Slater a run for his money).

All in all it was a lovely quiet Christmas in Santa Teresa!
