Well everyone... I'm 45.

It just happened,  I woke up this morning, still alive.  WOW!

Anyway,  I left a very wet and rainy Rome yesterday at 12:45.  It was a perfect trip, timed to the minute with no extra waiting.  I DID purchase pre-boarding, however.  I took the Ryan air from Ciampino to Gerona, bus to Barcelona.  funny thing, Ryan air greeted us to Barcelona with the familiar trumpet revelry of the Bull fights!!  Fun.

I took a cab to my hotel in the center near La Rambla.  The Hotel is VERY nice and the staff are so helpful.  I got an earful of where to catch tour busses, shows and the like.  Very nice.

So, I think it's a nice idea on the first day to take an all over/on/off tour and get a sense of the scene.  It is no different and with my hotel voucher, i get a nice discount on the red and blue lines.  So for today,  I took the red line.  It was a little cold and rainy but still enjoyable for the 1 hour and 45 minute tour.  The red line covers the south side of the city.  The main buildings designed by Gaudi and the lower hillside near the older, upscale area of town.  After, I walked the main shopping area back to my hotel.

After a short rest (while it rained quite heavily) I decided to go ahead and finish the tour on the blue line...The blue line was very interesting and followed some of the same course near the main Goudi buildings but then went into the modern area of town, the coast and the olympic villiage.  Both tours were very interesting and left me wanting much more.  It is very obvious that I will need to come back in the spring for a more protracted time.

Now I am back in my room relaxing and decideing what to do with myself tonight.  There is a huge nightlife here that seems to go all night...

what to do...
