So today I am very hungover. Last night was the big Madonna concert. I was looking forward to this for months! Several months ago, tickets went on sale and I thought since I saw her in 1990, it would be fun to see her here in Rome!! Claudio's brother was prepared to buy tickets early so I asked him if he would buy mine for me too.
We had floor(standing) tickets for 69 euro. Meanwhile, There was an estimated 80,000 fans waiting to go so we left home at about 4:00 for the 9:00 show. The line was incredible! thousands of Italian fans from all over Italy to see the material girl. Also, it was hot and humid outside. Anyway, we parked some distance away and walked along with hundreds of concert goers. When we reached the area where they sell th t shirts, I had to stop and buy my share of merchandise. ( I ended up with five t shirts)
Ok, Italians are not known for their organizational abilities so it was a cattle call to funnel through the gates
Anyway we were inside now and in the very center of the floor between 2 crew areas. It seemed like forever before the lights went down.
Suddenly, lightning and thunder began from behind the stage. Lights flashed, drums rolled and then, that voice. Up from a throne in the middle of the stage arose the queen of pop herself. the crowd went insane(including myself).
She opened with "candy shop" from her newest cd. then went into some of her old numbers with new arrangements. Her costumes were skimpy and her dancing was amazing. The ol' girl can really pull it together for a show.
After the show, it seemed everyone was going to clamor to gay village but I was ready to go home. I stopped at a pizza place thinking I would just eat and go to bed but, when I got home my housemates were drinking tequila shots. Why I joined in I will never know but I regret it now.
But I had the best time!!!!!

. Finally we were in, I was so excited, I was shaking. This concert was something I had been holding onto as incentive to stay on some of those occasions when i felt like going home. So it was (of course) a very big deal plus I have been a Madonna fan since the beginning of her carreer.Anyway we were inside now and in the very center of the floor between 2 crew areas.
