Upon arrival on Ometepe Pedalo took Lee off to see the doctor. For about 2 weeks now Lee has had some strange disease/virus thing where he cramps up from his stomach down to his feet and can't really walk. Not a permanent thing, it comes and goes and is all a bit odd. We waited by the bus while Pedalo took him off to see the quack. Oddest moment was turning round to see Scotty sitting outside a shop cleaning his nails............with a machete of course.
Ometepe is an island with a volcano on either end, but I am not climbing either of them, way too
Day 2 on Omotepe and some of us went to Ojo De Agua, or eye of the water, which was really nice, it is basically a natural pool so had a nice swim to cool off, it is pretty damned hot in Nicaragua generally. We then decided to do the nature walk on the way back, big mistake, took a slightly alternative route and ended up slightly lost in the Nicaraguan jungle. Eventually got out by going through some farmers horse and cow collection. He was then kind enough to let us out.
I then had to celebrate Australia Day with Aussies on the tour. We all have nice little cabins on the island and we took over one, had Australian flags hung up, and basically shifted a shed load of rum between us, it's so cheap here. I also ate vegemite on crackers. My addition to Australia Day was a rousing rendition of wheres your ashes gone. Good night though, and a particularly impressive display of drunkeness by Scotty, one of the Aussie boys.
