Stopped off at Hazel and John's house to say a 'goodbye', and were treated one last time to 'toad in the hole' (sausages and Yorkshire puddings), with gravy and salad...

we have been spoilt rotten by Hazel and Johns hospitality.
We have had a lovely time in Stokesley, catching up with family, and exploring the area.

What a lovely part of England with all the history and interesting sites!

It is warmer today, 4 degrees, and it feels very mild.
I never thought I would ever say the 4 degrees felt warm!

But we are pleased it is not icy and the roads should be clear.

We headed off to Manchester to stay out near the airport, as we fly to Rome tomorrow morning.
We had no problem navigating the way, and Daryl easily managed to return the car.

It feels good to just vegetate at the Hotel...ready for another big adventure tomorrow!

Answer to yesterdays quiz....
An Abbey is a Catholic monastery or convent.

A Minster is a title to give honour to a particular church.

and a Cathedral is where the Bishop has his seat, or 'Cathedra'.

I know what you are thinking... how very interesting!! ( or maybe it is something that you just have to be here in order to appreciate.)

I have not been online for a couple of days it's 5am and with family staying for the big 80 it has been a bit hectic. just love hearing about your travels and have missed a couple so will catch up with those after easter when all is a bit quieter. Have a great trip to Rome. Today is my actual birthday and there is a luncheon for about 30 close friends at a lovely little restaurant in Conifer Grove. There will be 2 birthday cakes as my Grand daughter turns 30 on 5th april. My Grandson in Aussie could not come but it is his 35 th birthday as well today. I received a lovely diamond faced watch from my Son and family beautiful and I can actually read the numbers. trouble is I can open the catch, once it is on that's where it stays until someone takes it off for me. Will solve that problem later. Best wishes for the next stage of your adventure. Doria
