I started the morning with the Wave Rock trail run of 3.6km at 5.30am. I liked it so much that I did it with Chloe again. The locals have built a series of walks/trails, developed a resort (looks more like a school camp), a small airport and included a lace museum and animal farm on site.
We returned to Wave Rock before leaving to take some more rock photos in the morning light. With the sun in the East, the light shone directly onto the face of the wave creating a magical effect.
We arrived at Esperance early afternoon after a 400 kilometre drive on some very average roads. We checked into the caravan park right on the beach but the wind was blowing very hard. We drove into town and decided to visit Mermaid Leather, a shop making leather type products out of fish and shark skins. The end product looks great but it is a long process making the finished products expensive. The skins are scraped of flesh, dried, dyed and then transformed into many different things. A pen was $45 do very expensive.
Tomorrow we will check out the beaches but there will be no more cruises!
