Our first stop of the day was at the Tropic of Capricorn marker. Chloe and Em did a Homer Simpson - now I am in the Tropic of Capricorn and now I am in the Antarctic Circle. We did some photos and kept driving.
At the next stop we had a coffee and caught up with our German 'friends'. Ever since Kakadu we have been bumping into them at various spots along the way. They have a little boy who is very cute and loves saying "bye, bye" in English to Emmy
There really isn't much to look at between Coral Bay and Carnarvon so the trip went slow.
We arrived mid afternoon and were immediately underwhelmed. We checked into the Big 4 and made our way to Babbage Island to ride the one mile jetty train. The wind was so strong that we were the last customers of the day. The train driver was a real character and obviously enjoyed her job. The jetty is a top fishing spot but not on days with a howling southerly. Bumbak's jam factory and the Satellite museum was closed so we went to Woolies. It was interesting that there were liquor restrictions on because of a funeral in the afternoon. Originally we had planned two nights but one would be more than enough. The brochures had looked good but looks can be deceiving.
