To begin the day we did the Mala walk at Uluru. We arrived at 8.00am to meet the ranger not realising it was now October and the tour starting time was now 10.00. Anyway we did the walk and it was great. We learnt about the culture, saw Aboriginal cave paintings and visited the cultural centre again for souvenir shopping.
On the way back to the caravan park we saw a thorny devil and helped it off the road. We had lunch and headed off to The Ogres (as Emmy called them). The Olgas or Kata Juta (meaning many heads) were amazing. We all walked to the first lookout and Chloe and I pushed onto the next one some 6ks away. The view was spectacular and well worth it. Chloe did a great job especially as she was wearing thongs despite being told to wear shoes. Her blisters were huge! We did take awhile and Emmy was ready for a search party and a push of the emergency alarm located at all the sights around Uluru. We came back and had a swim with the temperature on 30 degrees. For tea it was kangaroo and vegetables.
