Passing through Great Smokey Mountains NP once more, we headed down into South Carolina, on the way back to Charleston. I studied here in 2003 at the College of Charleston so I have many fond memories of the place, and couldn't wait to get back. We had plans to meet up with a ton of old friends, so we didn't stop until we got to the hotel, just out of Downtown.

Booking in for a few days, we kicked back in the hotel Bar, which was at the top of a 12 storey tower, hooking up with a few of my old house mates, and a few good friends I made when I were here in 2003. We spent a day in Charleston itself, revisiting our old haunts, the parks and places we hung out in whilst studying. We also drove up to Myrtle Beach for a day, whilst my old friends went shopping I spent the day back at Huntington Beach State Park, a familiar haunt from 2003.

Our last day in Charleston also happened to be July 4th, so we sat down at Waterfront Park, had a small picnic and just sat out in the sun, relaxing before the fireworks started later on. A great show was put on and yet again I realised Charleston is still my favorite place in the world to visit. I've been back a few times and it never gets boring.
