Melbourne was the only place we had to be in on a certain day. You see, I have an elder sibling, who some years ago got bored of the bright lights of Exeter and moved 10,000 miles away to Melbourne. I forgot about her for a few years, then a few weeks back I remembered that she lived here, which meant we get a free bed for a few nights, so we rung her up and said see you in a few weeks.
I jest of course. We always knew we would be in Melbourne for her birthday. We can't be missing out on a free party, plus of course I want to see her face light up when she opens up her present from us. It's so bad it's good. Although it was pretty much hit or miss if we would get here in time, as it turned out we actually had a day or two to play with, so no worries really
As it was her birthday we spent most of our time together eating some yummy chinese, also with Andy's (her fella) parents, who also moved over from the Uk some time back. Was a very nice evening out and nice to catch up on stuff. We also met my nephews for the first time - Max and Sam. After lots of fussing over them, they started to actually like Uncle Darren.
Our stay in Melbourne was a short one, as we will be back in a little while when the guys have some annual leave to play with us. So for the whole next day we helped them move home, which generally meant driving lots of different cars between houses, then ferrying my sister to the Doctors for stiches in her hand. She says some glass cut her, but we know it was to avoid doing work.
And with all that over with, we jumped in the Van and went south...
