Wallaman Falls

To get to here you have to go 40kms up a very steep and winding road which has a sign stating 'no caravans, vans or trucks' but we thought we would give it a try. Also along this stretch of road the endangered bird 'the Cassowary' is supposedly a common sight, although we never saw one!
We made it to the top and it was well worth the effort. The falls are situated in Girringun National Park and you are also able to camp for a fee of $9 which is what we did. It was a great place surrounded by rain forest and with it being Easter it was fairly busy with families all having bbq's. We had one too and the next morning we made our way to see the waterfall, its 268m high making it Australia 's highest.
