I also checked out this sorta touristy bazaar with a bunch of old soviet and found an old book outlining the entire old Soviet rail network (how's that for a cool memoir of the Trans-Siberian?)
In the evening I checked out Cafe Pushkin
Today I hit the Museum of the Great Patriotic War and Victory Park (this is what the Russians refer to as World War II.) The museum was impressive on both it's grandeousness and detail of the events that transpired during WWII when the "Facist Hilterites" attacked the "Soviet Red" army. There were all sorts of cool dioramas of the major battles, maps, and old weapons depicting the events from 1941 to 1945. It really gave a feel for the huge impact (~20 million deaths) that the Soviet Union suffered. Unfortunately the museum made a SMALL historical oversight and forgot to include anything before 1941 (ya, that's right WWII started in 1939 didn't it and who exactly started it?)
