We had a couple of beach bungalows right on the sea front in a tiny area south of KK.  It was a bus ride and then an off-road job to get there, so not the sort of place to stumble over.  First impressions were very nice, but there were a few snakes.  They seemed quite shy though apart from the one that jumped over Richies foot.

I have noticed quite a few snakes here actually.  I thought they were quite timid creatures but they hang around a bit (too much).   No monsters, usually skinny things but very colourful.
Instinctively dropped our bags in the bungalow and charged down to the beach to freshen up in what looked like a gorgeous sea from our hut.  Wondering why Richie isn't swimming his heart out when we get there we spot the whole sea as far as you can see is peppered in brown splodges.  Millions of jellyfish.  Gross.  So that put the stops on that.  As we ponder whether to hang around for another 3 nights we made the right decision in hindsight by staying put.  They'd cleared up pretty much the next day.

Not a great deal to report from here really.  It's quite remote so we played pool, had a few walks and did some reading whilst tanning.

The highlight was attempting to take a 2-man kayak out into the ocean when it was a bit rough.  A great laugh, but hard work.  Especially when you get washed about a kilometre down the coast and find out your kayak has a hole in it and was never buoyant in the first place.

Note to self: when pulling a kayak back in, don't stand downstream of it as a 6ft wave washes it into you and hurts.

Note to anyone else: if on this beach please look for Richie's sunny's.
