I flew from Athens to Milan yesterday and then I took a train up to Zurich. On the way I decided that Zurich was too big of a city and I wanted to enjoy the natural beauty of Switzerland for a little bit so I jumped on another train to Lucern. I can't believe how beautiful Switzerland is. I am sorry we skipped over it, Liz. The train ride was amazing. We went by so many rushing mountain streams, through tunnels and valleys, and in between snow covered peaks. In Lucern you can take a cog train to the top of the nearest mountain, a cable car back down the other side and then a boat ride on the big lake to back where you started. It all sounds amazing but I do not want to spend anymore money. I just tell myself that I will come back at some point.
Switzerland is real expensive. I am going to head up to Kaiserslautern this evening to try to get my name on the list for a flight back to the US. It looks like there aren't many flights back and some were recently cancelled. That doesn't sound to god but I can afford to wait it out for a little while, when a ticket back would cost 1000 dollars. I would love to write some more about my impressions of Europe and upload some pictures of Switzerland but at 8 dollars an hour for internet, that ain't happening.
I forgot to mention how this one Swiss guy was trying to lecture me on US foreign relations. He kept regurgitating crap at me like "the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer." Really? And where did you hear that from? He also said that America doesn't try to talk with countries. We should talk more. Should talk more to Saddam, and Iran, and Kim Il Jong. Yah all those guys just love to talk it up, and they are so rational and willing to comprimise. He said he cannot believe how America just does what ever it wants and tries to make peace through war. I wanted to tell him how his country has not gone to war in 400 years and harbored Nazis and their money during WW2, but I was polite. I thought he was an idiot who just puked out the opinions he hears in the media. He probably thought I was a brainwashed American cowboy.
